Frequently asked questions
Detailed answers about creating, publishing, viewing, and managing an ArtDoon exhibition.
Getting started
What is ArtDoon?+
ArtDoon is a browser-based studio for arranging artwork inside walkable 3D spaces and publishing the finished exhibition as a web link.
Do visitors need an account?+
No. Anyone with the public exhibition link can visit a published exhibition. An account is required to upload artwork, manage drafts, and publish.
Why do I need to verify my email?+
Verification confirms that you control the address attached to the account. You may build and save drafts before verification, but publishing requires a verified email.
Can I try a space before creating an account?+
Yes. You can browse spaces and begin trying the exhibition flow anonymously. Creating an account keeps your work available across sessions and is required for uploads and publishing.
Artwork and files
Which image formats can I upload?+
ArtDoon accepts image files that its image processor can decode, including common JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and AVIF files. Each upload may be up to 25 MB.
Does ArtDoon change my image?+
For the interactive viewer, ArtDoon applies the image orientation, removes embedded metadata, scales the image to fit within 2,048 × 2,048 pixels without enlarging it, and stores a quality WebP version. Keep your original master file separately.
How much can I store?+
The current default account storage allowance is 250 MB across artwork, uploaded video, and music. The Free plan holds up to 10 artwork images, Premium up to 100, and Ultimate is unlimited. Limits shown inside your Studio are authoritative.
Can I reuse an image?+
Yes. The Artwork library is shared by all your exhibitions. Deleting an artwork from the library also removes it from every exhibition where it was placed.
Can I add artwork details and prices?+
You can add a title and description. Eligible plans can show up to eight print options with size, price text, and a note. ArtDoon does not process the sale; visitors contact the artist directly.
Spaces and exhibitions
What is the difference between a Space and an Exhibition?+
A Space is an architectural room supplied by ArtDoon. An Exhibition is your artwork, text, media, and presentation choices installed inside one of those spaces.
What can I customize?+
Depending on the space, you can place artwork and wall text, select frame and mount presets, adjust artwork lighting and reflections, add a statement, and add video or background music.
Which video and audio files work?+
Rooms with a screen accept YouTube links or an uploaded MP4 or WebM file up to 80 MB by default. Background music accepts MP3, M4A, OGG, or WAV up to 20 MB by default. Browser codec support still determines whether a specific file plays.
What does Save draft do?+
It keeps the exhibition on your dashboard without making it public. Publish creates a public visitor page and shareable link. Making it private removes public access again.
Can I change a published exhibition?+
Yes. Changes to the exhibition remain under your control. Visitors will see the current published version, and you can unpublish it at any time.
Viewing and sharing
What device does a visitor need?+
A current browser with WebGL and hardware acceleration gives the best result. ArtDoon includes touch controls and adaptive quality, but older or low-power devices may load more slowly.
Is there a 2D or accessibility version?+
Yes. Every published exhibition has a plain list view - images, titles, descriptions, and any price list, with no 3D or WebGL required. It opens automatically if your browser has no WebGL, or you can switch to it any time with the “View as a list” link on the exhibition page.
Can search engines find my exhibition?+
A public link can be accessed and shared. Broader discovery and a curated Explore page are planned for public beta. Do not publish anything you intend to keep confidential.
Can I embed an exhibition or protect it with a password?+
Embeds and password-protected preview links are planned for public beta and are not currently available.
Plans, accounts, and privacy
Is ArtDoon free?+
ArtDoon has a Free plan with real limits, and two paid plans, Premium and Ultimate. You are only ever charged after choosing a plan on the Pricing page and completing checkout.
What is currently included in the free plan?+
The Free plan allows up to 10 artwork images and saving or publishing in two starter spaces, with no background music or print sales. See the Pricing page for what Premium and Ultimate add.
Can I export or delete my account?+
Yes. Profile settings include a JSON data export and permanent account deletion. Deletion requires your password and removes your profile, exhibitions, uploaded media, saved spaces, and sessions.
Which cookies does ArtDoon use?+
ArtDoon currently uses essential HTTP-only cookies for signed-in sessions and for anonymous draft ownership. It does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party behavioral tracking.
Who owns my artwork?+
You retain your ownership. You grant ArtDoon the limited permission needed to store, process, display, and deliver content through the service. You must have the rights needed for everything you upload or publish.
